Jenny’s ideal eating day is admirable and includes preserved duck eggs, a legit mission burrito, and not too many sweets.
I learn about the C-town of Paris, the monoprix. Baker Dorie Greenspan writes about the monoprix here on her blog.
The first thing Jenny learned to cook was eggs with tomato. This reminded me of the first thing Tricia learned to cook.
Jenny is kind enough to share a couple of poems from Dear Jenny, We Are All Find, which is due out super soon and you can pre-order here. Until then, read a few more of Jenny’s poems here.
Jenny mentions Fernando Pessoa, who was a really fascinating dude. If you’re not familiar, here’s a bit of his story and a poem.
I admit to being really angry and missing this silly place I am from like hell. Also, grand narratives.
We talk about what it means for a lady to be gross. Jenny’s poems remind me of Gurlesque. I think there’s a good definition here on the Ms. blog.
Here’s a recent non-fiction piece that Jenny wrote for Rookie, called “Other Girls.”
The brother piece that I mention, which reminded me so much of my sister, is here on Rookie.
Jenny teaches me about Crying, While Eating.
